Welcome to the 2018 FM99 Lunatic Luau Battle of The Bands!
The winning local band will get to open Lunatic Luau 18 at Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach on May 5th.

VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE BANDS BELOW STARTING – 1OAM ON 3/19

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS

1. Starting Monday, March 5 through Sunday, March 18 at 11:59pm, you can submit an online entry for your band below. You and your band must live within the FM99 listening area to enter. You will need to include contact name, phone number, email address and city along with a file or link to an ORIGINAL song.

2. Then on Monday March 19 at 10am through Tuesday, March 27 at 11:59pm, listeners can vote for your band below.

3. On Wednesday, March 28, 9 bands will be announced as finalists. If your band is chosen as a finalist, an FM99 staffer will call you and you’ll hear us announce it on the air!

4. The 9 finalists from the online voting will be divided into 3 groups of 3 and will compete live at Big Woody’s Bar and Grill at Chesapeake Square. You will be told which group your band is in if you are contacted as a finalist.

5. Group One will compete on April 4th, Group Two will compete on the April 11th, and Group Three will compete on April 18th. One winner from each group will be chosen by a panel of judges and announced the day after each competition.

6. The three group winners will compete on April 25th where the Battle of the Bands winner will be chosen by a panel of judges. The winner will be announced on April 26th and will open Lunatic Luau on May 5th!
